Bill Gates got attacked and he is a good leftist and has given so much money away. I think it is just pure envy.

"...this fetal reaction."

I think you meant to say "fatal."

Oddly, "fetal" is less far off the mark than it might be. Anthony's lack of self-esteem and self-control was certainly childish. Though, the word refers to those who are not yet born.

The thing about the honor culture explanation is that Anthony

* Was expelled from school for carrying a knife

* Went to a track meet with a knife

* Went into the other school's tent

* Refused to leave

* Repeatedly dared someone to touch him.

He was looking to commit murder, and he didn't care who.

That is one interpretation. Since we cannot read minds, it is hard to say what the real motivations are. All we know is that they are clearly not aligned with our values and likely not the law.

We know what honor culture looks like. We can judge whether he actually was reacting or acting.

We think we know.

I am personally not convinced that he was not just pulling the narcissistic equivalent of a school shooting by provocation and claiming victimhood when people react to whatever trap he set. He was way too eager to ask about self defense right away. Which makes me believe he planned more than what he led on.

My point. We do not really know. And it is foolish to claim certainty. what we know that his intention were not positive and had nothing to do with cleat cleaning or potato peeling.

The provocation and claiming victimhood is exactly what doesn't fit honor culture.

A lot of people growing up in honor cultures utilize this approach, though, when coming to the west; I have seen it many times in both UK and Germany... it is how they exploit the existing western laws.
